Previous stages

Our recommendations for new electoral and boundary arrangements.

Dates: 4 Dec 2001

We review the electoral and boundary arrangements of councils to make sure they are fair. Our reviews include at least two rounds of public consultation before we make recommendations for change.

In light of the Government’s White Paper on English Devolution, we have decided not to start this review as scheduled on 4 February 2025. We are taking a short period of time to review its timetable, and this page will be updated when we launch the first round of consultation
