Councillor numbers
The first stage of this electoral review is to determine the number of councillors who should represent the local authority in the future. The Commission has decided that the number of councillors in Melton Borough Council should be 28.
Effective date
The Borough of Melton (Electoral Changes) Order 2002 was made on 12 October 2002.
Officers within the council will now make sure the new arrangements are in place for elections held in May 2003.
Final report
Our recommendations for new electoral and boundary arrangements were published on 6 June 2002.
